Solar photovoltaic power is one of the most important and well-established renewable energy sources. According to the World Bank, floating solar power can double the existing installed capacity of solar power as there are more than 400,000 square kilometers of man-made reservoirs in the world such as swamps and reservoirs.

Types of Floating PV Systems

Mibet offers different types of floating PV systems to suit your needs. The three types are as follows:

Full Plastic: the floating body and the solar panel mounts are lightweight due to being entirely made of high-density polyethylene (HDPE).
Plastic + Aluminium Alloy: the floating body is made of HDPE and the solar panel mounts are made of aluminium alloy, with magnesium aluminium zinc coated alloy also available.
Plastic + Stainless Steel: the floating body is made of HDPE and the solar panel mounts are made of stainless steel.

Anchoring System

The mibet floating PV system will be fixed by an anchoring system. Usually, we choose the anchor point under the water, while the anchor point on the water’s surface will be also working. The procedure of installing the anchoring system will be designed in accordance with the conditions of the water area.

1. When the variation in water level is less than 1 meter, the system will be fixed by sinkers or stones with ropes.

2. When the variation in water level is less than 3 meters, the system will be fixed by sinkers or stones with ropes, and springs will be used for extra reinforcement.

3. When the variation in water level is more than 3 meters, the system will be fixed by sinkers or stones with winch ropes.

With our floating transformer station, we do not need extra space on shore and the transformation to medium voltage can be carried out directly on the water.
