Mibet and Wuhan University of Technology Launch Joint Floating PV Research Center

On September 16, Mibet and Wuhan University of Technology established a Joint Graduate Training Base and a Joint Technology Research Center for Floating PV Equipment. The two organizations have previously worked together on floating PV research and applications. The new research center combines the university's research in naval architecture, ocean engineering, hydrodynamic analysis, and mooring system design with Mibet's experience in floating PV product development, project engineering, and field applications.

Research will focus on floating structures, hydrodynamic response, mooring systems, and related equipment for inland-water and offshore floating PV. The graduate training base will allow students to work on engineering projects and research topics based on actual project requirements. Research findings can then be applied to product development, testing, and field validation.

Mibet began floating PV R&D in 2014 and has since shipped more than 1.5 GW of floating PV products worldwide. In 2024, we began nearshore floating PV field demonstrations at Dalipu Islet and Dongshan Island to study system performance under marine conditions.
