When Super Typhoon Meranti struck Xiamen in September 2016, it was a ultimate test for all outdoor infrastructure. With peak winds exceeding Beaufort Force 17, the storm paralyzed the city, destroying power lines and flattening thousands of trees. Amidst this chaos, Mibet’s solar installations provided a powerful testament to structural excellence.

Even deep-rooted trees have been uprooted by the strong wind

Our technical team had meticulously calculated the wind load resistance for our Solar Carports and Off-grid Rooftop Systems. Despite the wind speeds far surpassing the 50-year historical maximums we used in our designs, Mibet’s mounting solutions survived the strike without a single structural failure.

While much of Xiamen remained in darkness for days, the survival of our systems highlighted the critical importance of distributed solar power in disaster recovery. This event has fueled Mibet's commitment to accelerating the adoption of residential and commercial PV plants. We remain steadfast in our mission: to provide the most reliable, high-efficiency solar solutions that protect and empower communities, no matter the weather.
